DNPC
DNPC, an abbreviation of DotX Nonlinear Predictive Control, is a Nonlinear Model Predictive Controller (NMPC).
NMPC relies on an internal model of the process. In contrast to Linear Model Predictive Control, this model may be nonlinear. Moreover, also the constraints and cost function may be nonlinear. For a general background into NMPC see the Wiki page: Wiki page on NMPC
DNPC is operational at a walking beam furnace of VDL Weweler, where it runs on a PC and communicates with the operator via a web interface and with the furnace via OPC.
